❝ May the odds be ever in your favor.
It might be kinda late for me to blog about this book, but hey, it's been only like two months ago since I've read these. I'm not sure if y'all familiar with this. But I do assume that a lot of you are. If you haven't read this series, I strongly recommend it to you.
So, if you're asking about the age range, well, I have to say it's for everyone. Uh, wait. Maybe not so much for kids who are not really familiar with uh violent things. There's something about this series. Although it's more on violence, there is quite something special about it that I can't pinpoint.
Everything.
Hunger Games takes place way beyond in the future. The characters live in a place called 'Panem' which was North America back then. (Or during our time) It is called the Hunger Games because every year, the Capitol hosts a annual game where two participants, or what they call as 'tributes', represent their districts. All in all, there are twenty-four tributes. Twenty-three lives will be put into an end in exchange for one single life.
Every scene. Every happening. It just makes you on flipping pages on and on. How it was written and everything. I have to say that it is not like those old teen series where the love story centers everything. It's about justice. They all join forces to take down the Capitol's dictatorship on the twelve districts of Panem, However, there is a love story. It's not too much, but it's a love story that what I would call perfect. I'm trying not to sound like a fan girl, but it is just too magnificent. One of the greatest books since Harry Potter.
As for the movie., I am so excited to see the scenes come to life. I am not very satisfied with the casting although I'm getting used to it. I pictured Katniss as a more of a Emily Browning. But I think Jen's okay, they say she's good in acting so we'll just find out on March. Liam Hemsworth is nothing like Gale except with the hair. I am not saying that he is not good looking (which he is) but I thought Gale should be like more.. I don't know.. dirtier? I mean, more scruffy don't you think? Liam's too clean for the role.
I saw the trailer last Thursday, and it gave me goosebumps. The way Katniss volunteers as tribute, Katniss and Peeta's conversation, the Training center, and most especially, the countdown. I don't know with you guys, but the whistle at the end just lift the hair all over my body. I really couldn't wait on how the movie would turn out. I couldn't wait for it all come to life.
And may I present you the tributes (and Gale). (Photo from Vanity Fair)
Well, I guess this ends here. I want to here your comments about the series and even the movie. What do you think of the books? The cast? Anything? Share me your thoughts.
May the odds ever be in our favor.
Cheers.
